Trouble in Audacity!

So I am working on the Freesound assignment and I am having a couple of issues.

1. I get a crackling noise all the way through my sound score when I "trick" my computer and line-in the microphone to the headphones.

2.  I get an echo on my sounds with this same situation.

any thoughts as to how to fix these?  I am recording through Microsoft Sound Mapper in Stereo.  Don't know if that helps.  Is there an office hour tomorrow?

    Josh do not worry so much about recording the files as much as downloading them and organizing them. As we found some of the machines just do not have the ability to record and play [which is upsetting in 2010]. FOCUS on downloading and arranging sounds NOT on the workaround. I do not want people obsessing over what will most likely
    1.) sound crappy
    2.) be a workaround

    So

    use freesound and download files and organize files into 2 main works about 3-5 minutes

This week! My boyfriend came in town and I was thinking of a song to use for my loop. He gave me the idea of this song and I really liked it so, I decided to go along with it. The loop sounds pretty cool. I think you guys will probably be able to guess at it. We will see! I can not upload it, because my computer will not let me use bandcamp, I usually upload on Mary's computer. So I will share it will you all tomorrow! I did listen to the Chemical brothers, star guitar and timber. I found them all equally interesting. The effects of each video are very cool. Some of it reminded me of the movie INCEPTION. I love how you can make a beat or rhythm and then just keep adding sounds and effects to make it more complex. The end!

Hey guys. I'm working on the final project for the other class that Arturo teaches right before this course, called Interactive Storytelling. One aspect of my project involves an art hosting website that has a blog for four different types of art: Photography, Microsoft Paint art (Like Ernesto's), Graffiti, and Photoshop Images.
