La monte Young drone

La Monte Young has an interesting taste for music which includes drone music. he is listed as one of the top four minimalist. "When he visited Darmstadt, he discovered John Cage through Stockhausen, and became more interested in theatrical elements of music. He also began to incorporate drones into his work more under the influence of non-western musics." His more familiar piece, Trio of 1958, was seen at the time to be far out but now is more understood.  I personally don't understand his personal style of drone music.

At the last three weeks of this semester, Mr. Panago introduced us a new video editing software Adobe After Effects. Adobe Premiere, which is also mainly for video editing that I explored in midterm project, is generally employed to arrange the order of videos, cut and put transitions, it is also capable of doing basic DVD authoring. While After Effects can edit video footage in much the same way as Premiere, it is designed specifically to work with video layering, compositing, effects and animation. Basically as what it states in its name, it is used for "Effects".Of course Premiere can also do these things but After Effects has a slightly different workflow that makes them easier.
