After searching a bit on youtube for a few other works that Philip Glass has done I realized his music goes way beyond the minimalist movement of the early 1960s. I didn't realize that he composed the music for multiple full-length movies such as "The Illusionist." I absolutely love this theme song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNi20KKB2FE&feature=related

As for "music with changing parts," my first impression was that it was very simplistic, which makes sense seeing as it is called "minimalistic." But the more I listen to it and peel apart the sounds, I realize that it becomes rather complex, but the complexity is very subtle. A lot of it is due to the mixing and automation, but in the background you find a lot of hidden themes and melodic lines which bring out the beauty in this piece. I must say, it is very hypnotic and not my favorite out of all his works but I am starting to respect it. I much prefer his piece "metamorphosis" because it almost has this progressive feel to it, like you are getting somewhere and not stuck in quick sand like i feel listening to La Monte Young. (just not my cup of tea if you get my drift)

Another group that somewhat reminds me of this minimalistic style is the band Sigor Ros. A lot of their instrumental pieces build a foundational melody and create on top of that melody with other moving parts. I know their not categorized as minimalistic but it does have some of the key characteristics, repeitition, reiteration of musical phrases etc.
