I felt like Rhizome kinda hit the nail on the head with what we've been doing. There were tags for everything we've done and more. I found the copyright tab to be the most interesting. I enjoyed this article about "The Pirate Google".
http://www.accessgrid.org/ Here is the link and a basic Access Grid Setup. Your Digital Culture Word for the DAY: TELEPRESENCE. EVERYONE please google, research, copy/paste what you can find about the idea of telepresence and then place it in a comment to this post. I'll explain this more on wednesday!
"Telepresence refers to a set of technologies which allow a person to feel as if they were present, to give the appearance that they were present, or to have an effect, at a location other than their true location." - Wikipedia Telepresence is commonly seen at theme parks. A prime example of this is The Simpsons ride. A video is displayed on a screen, but that is not the only sense being invoked. Surround sound allows the participant to hear in all directions, movement allows them to feel like they're actually falling, and machine generated smells top it off. With telepresence the participant does not simply observe the attraction, they experience it.
