Alan Kay

Kay's predictions about the future with computers as a medium were not far from reality at all. The remark about computers one day replacing books is more true than ever, especially with the new Amazon Kindle which is a wireless reading device or essentially, a digital book. Of course, there are still notebooks, PDAs, etc. that can read digital books but it is not usually the main purpose. The idea of the Kindle is to actually replace the book and actually serves well as an interface as it removes some of the extra interface between the person and the computer, making it more intuitive to the user.
