Since we have no class on monday i expect that you will

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL pd-extended for your computer.

BLOG with some insight on some of the topics i suggested.

Terry Riley and Minimal Music [IN C ] and Rainbow in Curved Air
La Monte Young [DRONES]

You are also expected to make at least 3 compositions using LOOPS that you either download from Freesond or visit one of the two sites for REMIX

Make sure in your AUDACITY PROJECTS you use

1.) Speeding sounds up
2.) Slowing sound down
3.) An effect [REVERB, EQ, COmpression]
4.) Explore NORMALIZATION to -6db as we discussed in class
5.) make a cut, chop something and re-arrange it with audacity
6.) try phasing things **remember my examples about out of phase!



Also please go and explore and DOWNLOAD an .mp3 from UBUWEB
and convert it to a .wav or .aiff with ITUNES.

Try to weave these things into your pieces

i want a minimum of 3 [THREE] explorations 1-3 minutes long!

    This is for the people that have AVG anti-virus and having a virus warning from PD. I have installed Mcafee on my laptop, but have the paid AVG version on my desktop. It is simple to add PD on your exceptions list.

    1. Open AVG User interface.
    2. Select Tools->Advanced Settings. Under Residential shield select excluded files.
    3. Click Add button and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\pd\bin and select PD.exe.
    4. Press ok.
    5. Restart PD and make sure it works.

At the last three weeks of this semester, Mr. Panago introduced us a new video editing software Adobe After Effects. Adobe Premiere, which is also mainly for video editing that I explored in midterm project, is generally employed to arrange the order of videos, cut and put transitions, it is also capable of doing basic DVD authoring. While After Effects can edit video footage in much the same way as Premiere, it is designed specifically to work with video layering, compositing, effects and animation. Basically as what it states in its name, it is used for "Effects".Of course Premiere can also do these things but After Effects has a slightly different workflow that makes them easier.
