I thought it would be interesting to share because there are students in this class who've taken app development and still may want to further their career in that field, like myself. The forum has posts that could answer a lot of questions for people who don't know where to begin or are stuck.

Apparently, people using Max 7 also have trouble with recording. This issue in this forum has to do with the resolution not being accurate. Max 7 Forum

I read up on some Beginner Forums for Max 7 and saw that someone was having some trouble with dials. Apparently, they were using Max 6 instead of Max 7. Now I am curious to know what the difference between Max 6 and 7 are. Max 7 Forum

This is what i made experimenting with sliders and buttons. I found that you can change more than just color as there are other cosmetic attributes such as thickness. The recipe that I came across is entitled "Party Lights." It creates a starburst visual effect by utilizing particle effects. It even has feedback trails and a bloom effect, for extra gawking oo's and ahh's. It can be applied to video and responds to audio input or else can be programmed to activate in a particular way. Although the effect looks both simple and visually stunning, it consists of a complex set of matrixes to create the final product. The recipe can be found on cycling74.com; it is recipe number 48. Homework Pastebin Blog Post ---- My Jitter/Max7 Profile Cycling74 Perspectives: Film Composer Jeff Rona So i ran into this post about things made with Max7 and I found something outside of "music" or rather integrating Max into something other than music and the video was about how Jeff Rona set up a Max7 interface to connect to TouchOSC and he could sit down next to one of his film directors and layout infront of him on a touchscreen pad an easy and efficient way to monitor the audio and video and dialog of a film. I thought that the integration of such a simple touch screen interface was just 1 amazing asset to using Max7 to control things like film that one would probably not think of when thinking about what Max7 is regularly used for. I made a template for experimentation with video synthesizer patches. On the left is a simple patch with one oscillator input to another. On the right I put some useful objects to duplicate into the patch including oscillators, effects, and a mixer. EVeryone Do not let the inability to record video stop you from the rest of the assignments. I suggest that when you are using MAx and have a slower machine do not have anything else running that could take your resources. Also Update your drivers to the latest for your machine. I think it's a known bug in windows but on thursday i will give you some things  to try ONWARD!
