Making a Panorama With Autostitch

Image
Making An Original Panorama Photograph for Use in a QTVR Movie 1) Download Autostitch 2.2 from CNET (currently for PCs only). http://download.cnet.com/Autostitch/3000-2192_4-196145.html or at http://people.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html 2) Open Autostitch. 3) Create a New Folder on your Desktop and name it something specific- here’s a chance to be creative (do not name it “pano1”). 4) Open the file that contains the digital photos that you’d like to use in your panorama. 5) Copy only the photos to the new folder that don’t overlap more than about one third of the image. Try to have an object or shape that the program can match to the next photo (like a particular tree or part of a building). 6) Using AutoStitch window go to File>Open. 7) Browse through your computer’s files to the new file you created (remember?) with the specific name. 8) Wait for status bar to disappear. Be patient, there’s no work to do now! 9) Your panorama has been create

Notes on Creating My First Website (Final Project)

For my DCC project, I decided to begin to learn the Dreamweaver website building software, and create the foundation for a website that will feature my work as a filmmaker and video editor. I presented my beginning frame work at mid-term, and have expanded, edited and refined the content on the site for my final project. The first thing that struck me about working with Dreamweaver, and the concepts behind building a website, is how similar the process is to creating a film or video using a digital non-linear editing program. I was able to use many of my existing skills, from working as a video editor, in the creation of my website. Initially, the process is highly organizational. You must take your concept and mentally visualize it, and then begin to lay down the ‘road map’ of how you will execute your vision. It is the same process in the film editing room. The concept of the film is in front of you in the form of a script and raw footage, and you have to come up with an

At the last three weeks of this semester, Mr. Panago introduced us a new video editing software Adobe After Effects. Adobe Premiere, which is also mainly for video editing that I explored in midterm project, is generally employed to arrange the order of videos, cut and put transitions, it is also capable of doing basic DVD authoring. While After Effects can edit video footage in much the same way as Premiere, it is designed specifically to work with video layering, compositing, effects and animation. Basically as what it states in its name, it is used for "Effects".Of course Premiere can also do these things but After Effects has a slightly different workflow that makes them easier. After Effects also tends to have better quality effects, etc (Source: http://www.mediacollege.com/adobe/compare/aftereffects-vs-premiere.html ). Strong interest in editing videos drove me to discover Adobe After Effects as final project. To explore its two-dimension animated picture making functio

This is what I did for the final project. It's a Animated GIF file. But, I don't know why it does't play after I posted it in this blog....I'll send you the file via email, Pat:) The idea is "Protect our earth"! (because the serious enviroment issues now) First, I imported this picture of earth into After Effect, I use CC sphere to make an 3D earth. Then I make it keep spinning..Then I use star burst effect to make the backgroud effect. After that, I saved it as a filmstrip file and then edited it in the Photoshop. I changed the color, contrast, hue and the light to make it seem poisoned which results from evironment damage. In the whole process, I encounter so many difficulties, it was not easy as I thought. I failed to render the file for so many reasons, such as the image size, ect. In the end, I re-do the whole thing by using 1/3 of the original size image. Finally, I make it.! I was planning to add sound for it, but the dreamweaver in my laptop doesn
